Judgement

The man stood, arrogant and proud in front of the throne of the Lord God Almighty. In a loud voice trembling with anger and fear he shouted his defiance, “Who are you to judge me, a free man, citizen of a free and mighty country?”

The Lord looked at the man standing before Him and there was pity and compassion in his eyes and a deep sadness resonated in His voice when He spoke.

“Yes, there has been a judgment, when my son, my only Son came to suffer and to die so that you might be saved. When you judged the sacrifice of my Son as worthless, you sat in judgment of yourself. This judgment has been made, the book of life does not contain your name.
You have made your choice, so be it.”
And the Lord wept.
